Welcome To Kevin Schrader Art
Around 5 years old I started learning what art was when my grandmother would visit. Us boys would sit around the table
watching her produce sketch after sketch. She was the first woman to earn a Degree In Architecture in the State of
Minnesota. She was also a very talented artist. In my younger years I studied fine art and after several semesters I dropped
out because I realized that most art majors end up teaching art which I did not want to do. I had some excellent teachers
and hold a high respect for the profession, I just didn't think I would make a good teacher.

I then went from one manual labor job to another such as sawmill, steel forge furnace, jackhammer/shovel operator, and
many others. Oh yeah, and the hide tanning factory where we received raw hides from the slaughterhouse several days old.
Boy did that one stink, especially in the summer! The job bouncing went on for nearly 10 years and was not all for naught.

The hard dead end jobs taught me a valuable lesson and I went back to school earning a degree in civil engineering, and on
to earn my professional registration. I did this with the help and support of my friends, brothers, and Mom & Dad. During all
these years I managed to complete a small sculpture or painting on occasion so I never really left the art realm, guess I just
got caught in the machine and it's taken a few decades to find my way out.

These days I try to focus on technical marvels like the Space Shuttle that demonstrate what we can accomplish when we
pull in the same direction. I'm also working on paintings and ceramics. Referring to the Tomahawk cruise missile above,
please don't get the impression that I'm a defense radical - I'm not. I did the Tomahawk because the technology is amazing.

That white oak tree was originally meant to be firewood but I "had an idea" while taking a rest break. The air intake, fins and
wings are red cedar. Wouldn't you want one in your back yard? I can make a custom size "anything" and deliver and instalI
it. All you have to do is ask. I hope you enjoy the site and thanks for stopping by.
